Charity Shop:

The shop sells second-hand clothes, toys, household goods and furniture alongside new items such as jewellery. All proceeds raised by the shop are used to help send aid to Africa and contribute to sustainable development programmes there.

The charity shop was originally based in a static caravan next to CART's warehouse, but in October 2001 work began on building an extension to the warehouse to provide a permanent shop. It was opened for business on December 10, 2001 and sales more than doubled! Since then the shop has been further extended to make space for a furniture show room, opened by the Mayor of Kirklees, Clr. Margaret Fearnley, accompanied by her consort Mr Barry Fearnley. The Mayor paid tribute to CART's activities before cutting the ribbon.

Many thanks is extended to all who contributed to the vital fund raising efforts for building of the shop. Your investment will enabling CART to sustain its activities.
